Call For Papers

The ability to remember past events and imagine events in the future is considered important, not only in its own right, but also in relation to other mental processes, such as planning, self-regulation, identity, mind wandering and creativity.

Researchers have studied the neural basis and behavioral characteristics for mental time travel, as well as the effects of age and various mental disorders.

This research has not been limited to humans. There is evidence that non-human animals possess at least some capacity to remember events in their past and plan their future. Related processes take place at a collective level, when communities are commemorating their past and envisioning their future.

We believe that there is a need to bring together these different literatures and explore a variety of perspectives on mental time travel.

We invite all researchers to submit abstracts for poster presentations describing some of their most recent and exciting findings concerning the construction of future and (or) past events across domains. Please note we welcome poster abstracts from many different areas, including, but not limited to, autobiographical memory.

Deadline for submission of poster abstracts is 15 January 2016
