The Centre for Communication, Teaching and Learning (CCTL), Universiti Teknologi Brunei is pleased to announce that it is organising the second Professional Communication for Business, Engineering and Technology (PCBET) Conference, which will be held jointly with GLoCALL (The Globalization and Localization in Computer-Assisted Language Learning) conference. We would like to invite academics, members of industry and service providers to discuss and present their research on various aspects relevant to the conference theme and topics.

Conference theme: Towards a Communicative Learning Environment

Academics, members of industry and service providers are invited to submit 400 – 500 extended word abstracts, with a title not exceeding 12 words, on topics which include but are not limited to:
• Teaching and Learning
• Communication for the workplace
• Emerging Trends and Future Directions in Professional Communication
• Learner Autonomy
• E-learning/Blended learning
• Curriculum Development
• Workplace Diversity

Please use the attached template to submit your abstract. Abstract should be emailed back to pcbet.tc@gmail.com before the deadline given below.

Ways to present:
― Oral Presentation
Oral presentation will be of 20 minutes duration plus 10 minutes of Q&A session.

― Poster Presentation
Poster presentation will continue throughout the three days of the conference. It is a great opportunity for presenters to reach a large audience and engage interested participants directly. These sessions give participants a chance to network with other delegates who may be interested in similar research or other disciplines.

Some presenters will be unable to attend the conference to present their paper. We allow authors to submit their poster which will be featured in the conference. Information on how to do this will be sent upon request. Please contact the organising committee (pcbet.tc@gmail.com) for further details. Following the conference, you will be sent a certificate of participation, a printed receipt of payment and a printed copy of the conference programme.

Conference format:
― English is the official language of the conference. All papers must be presented in English.


Important Dates:
Submission of Abstract : 31st May 2017
Notification of Acceptance : 15th June 2017
Submission of Full Paper : 30th September 2017

 
Conference Registration Fees:
The conference participants will be charged the following fees:
1. Local participant / presenter BND 80 (Early bird by 15th August 2017) BND 100 (Normal)
2. Group Registration – Local (minimum 3 participants) BND 80 per person


Publication Opportunities:
1. Conference papers will be published in special issues of CALL EJ and International Journal of Computer Assisted language Learning and Teaching (IJCALLT).
2. All accepted papers will be published in the Brunei Darussalam Journal of Technology and Commerce (BDJTC).
