ITxOT Analytics 2015 : 1st Workshop on ITxOT Analytics @ IEEE Big Data 2015
Call For Papers
1st Workshop on ITxOT Analytics @ IEEE Big Data 2015
Call for Papers
The ITxOT (Information Technology x Operation Technology) convergence is an emerging trend in several industries that aims at integration of the technologies associated with data and operations management. While the Information Technology (IT) enables collection, storage and processing of operational data, the Operation Technology (OT) is concerned with operation, monitoring and control of different entities in the physical world (e.g., operational equipment, people, and processes). The ITxOT applications are increasingly important in a variety of domains such as telecommunication, power and energy management, oil and gas, mining, transportation, health care, etc., with an emphasis on turning massive amounts of heterogeneous data into actionable insights.
The 1st Workshop on ITxOT-Analytics aims towards bringing together researchers from academia, industry and government working on the development of big data analytics technologies that contribute to or benefit from ITxOT integration. The workshop focuses on addressing the unique challenges associated with ITxOT analytics, including the need to develop new algorithms for the analysis of heterogeneous operation data (e.g., spatio-temporal data, time series, sensor readings, events, or any combinations thereof), and machine intelligence algorithms for better control of the industrial and business operations (e.g., failure prediction, predictive maintenance, operations and logistics optimization, etc.)
The workshop is a sequel to the 1st and 2nd Workshops on Analytics for Cyber-physical Systems at the SIAM Conferences of Data Mining (SDM’12 and SDM’13).
The workshop welcomes contributions that address challenges associated with data analytics for ITxOT integration; including, but not limited to, the following topics:
• Performance Monitoring and Analytics
• Predictive and Condition-based Maintenance
• Failure Prediction and Root Cause Analysis
• Anomaly Detection and Prediction
• Operational Analytics and Intelligence
• Mining Spatiotemporal and Time Series Data
• Mining Big Sensor Data
• Event Analytics: Correlation, Mining and Prediction
• New Architectures for Operational Decision Support Systems
• Complex Event Processing for Industrial Operations
• Applications and Case Studies
We solicit high quality papers in the aforementioned research topics. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by researchers who are currently active in this area of research. If accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the workshop to present the paper.
Please submit a full-length paper (up to 8 page IEEE 2-column format) through the online submission system. Your paper should be formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting Guidelines. Authors are required to submit their papers electronically in PDF format.
• September 05, 2015: Due date for full workshop papers submission
• September 20, 2015: Notification of paper acceptance to authors
• October 05, 2015: Camera-ready of accepted papers
• October 29-November 1, 2015: Workshop
• Umesh Dayal, Hitachi R&D
• Joydeep Ghosh, University of Texas Austin
• Chetan Gupta, Hitachi R&D
IEEE Big Data 2015
The workshop will be a part of the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (Oct 29-Nov 01, 2015- Santa Clara, CA) . The IEEE Big Data conference is emerging as the premier venues for publications on big data in all its various aspects. The first conference IEEE Big Data 2013 (Regular paper acceptance rate: 17.0%) was held in Santa Clara , CA from Oct 6-9, 2013 with more than 400 registered participants from 40 countries. The IEEE Big Data 2014 (Regular paper acceptance rate: 18.5.0%) was held in Washington DC, Oct 27-30, 2014 with more than 600 registered participants from 45 countries. More information about the 2015 IEEE Big Data conference can be found at:
