Call For Papers

The IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) is the most prestigious international forum for presenting advanced and innovative research results, problem solutions, practices, insights on new challenges in the field of dependable computing and security. The whole spectrum of IT systems and application areas with stringent relevant dependability and security concerns are of interest to DSN.

DSN 2016 will be held in Toulouse, the France’s fourth largest city. This vibrant city is the center of the European aerospace industry. Also, it hosts hordes of hi-tech and IT businesses companies, and counts many universities and elite schools throughout the Midi-Pyrénées region.

All aspects of dependable and secure systems and networks are within the scope of DSN, including innovative architectures, protocols and algorithms, models for performance and dependability evaluation, as well as, experimentation and assessment of dependable and secure systems and networks. Authors are invited to submit original papers on research and practice of creating, validating, deploying, and maintaining dependable and secure systems and networks.

The program will include plenary talks, regular papers, experience reports, an industrial track, a student forum, a fast abstract track, together with state-of-the-art workshops and tutorials. We need your contribution and participation to make it a successful event. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Toulouse in June 2016.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

The Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) is the most prestigious international forum for presenting research results in the field of dependable and secure computing.
Authors are invited to submit original papers on the research and practice of creating, validating, deploying and maintaining dependable and secure systems and networks.

All aspects of dependable and secure systems and networks are within the scope of DSN including innovative architectures, protocols and algorithms as well as experimentation with and assessment of dependable and secure systems. DSN’s current thematic areas of emphasis are:

Hardware (e.g. microprocessors; VLSI; storage systems; and nanoscale systems)
Software (e.g. applications; middleware; and operating systems)
Cyber-physical systems (e.g. embedded systems; networked embedded systems; SCADA; automotive aerospace, and medical systems; and smart grid)
Socio-technical systems (e.g. virtual worlds; human-computer interaction; usable security; and online social networking)
Clouds (e.g. cloud storage, computing, platforms, and applications)
Networks (e.g. wireless networks; mobility; next-generation networks; and software-defined networking)
Models and methodologies for programming, evaluating, and assessing dependable and secure systems (e.g. performance, dependability and security evaluation; analytical and numerical methods; simulation; experimentation; benchmarking; verification; field data analysis; and data mining techniques)

Information to authors

Innovative papers in other areas of dependable and secure systems and networks will also be considered. Papers will be assessed with criteria appropriate to each category. The conference favors work that explores new territory, continues a significant research dialogue, or reflects on experience with (or measurements of) state-of-the-art implementations. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and impact.

Research Papers, Practical Experience Reports, and Tool Descriptions will be refereed and included in the Proceedings of the DSN 2016, if accepted.

All contributions must be written in English. IEEE Computer Society will publish accepted contributions.

Details for industrial papers student forum and fast abstract contributions will be on the conference webpage later.

Workshop and Tutorial proposals focused on the topic(s) addressed by the conference are also welcome.

Important Dates

Abstract should be submitted up to November 27th, 2015
The deadline for paper submission is December 7th, 2015

Best Paper Awards

William C. Carter Award to the best accepted paper that is based on a PhD dissertation.
Best Paper Award to the best accepted scientific paper among all.
