Call for paper for Special Issue on Pervasive Computing
Introduction Over the past decade, new computing models have emerged around the distributed computing area. In particular, Pervasive computing has been proposed as the third era of computing, in which new concept of context-aware computing has emerged. Pervasive computing has arisen based on the previous technologies in mobile computing, with the aim of providing services in an everywhere/every-time manner. This special issue provides the opportunity for researchers and product developers to review and discuss the requirements, state-of-the-art and trends of pervasive computing model. This issue will consider revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the “4th “International Workshop on Pervasive and Context-Aware Middleware↗” (PerCAM14). We also strongly encourage researchers who were unable to attend the conference to submit their outstanding papers to this special issue. Papers on theoretical, practical, and methodological issues in this subject are welcome. We invite authors to submit their original papers describing research in all aspects of mobile and pervasive computing. Topics of interest are: ● Architectural issues of middleware for mobile and pervasive computing ● Operating system support for mobile and pervasive computing ● Mobility issues in pervasive computing ● Expandability & scalability issues in mobile and pervasive computing ● Software engineering techniques for mobile and pervasive computing ● Software development methodology for mobile and pervasive computing ● Evaluating methods of application and middleware for mobile and pervasive computing ● Embodiments of middleware for mobile and pervasive computing ● programming languages for mobile and pervasive computing ● Context-awareness ● Context acquisition ● Quality of context assessment ● Context distribution/dissemination/provision ● Query-based languages for context retrieval ● Context modeling/reasoning ● Privacy protection in mobile and pervasive computing ● Context provenance ● Context-aware mobile programming ● Context-aware applications and systems ● Service management in mobile and pervasive computing ● Mobile crowd sensing ● Mobile and ubiquitous commerce Submission Manuscripts must not have been previously published or be submitted for publication elsewhere. Guidelines for authors and submission details are avaiable at http://ees.elsevier.com/compeleceng/↗ . All papers will be peer reviewed, and acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. Authors must select the Article Type SI-Perv at the time of submission.
