Special Issue on Advances on Internet of 2015 : Special Issue on Advances on Internet of Things and Cloud
Call For Papers
IoT is generally characterized by real world and small Things, limited capacity, constrained devices and the consequential issues such as less reliability, security and privacy.
Cloud computing on the other hand deals mainly with virtual world and has unlimited capabilities in terms of storage and processing power.
Thus cloud and IoT are the main complementary aspects of the future Internet. IoT can benefit from the unlimited capabilities and resources of cloud computing. Similarly, cloud can benefit from IoT by extending its scope to deal with real world things in a more distributed and dynamic manner.
The scope of this special issue is to present state-of-the-art research covering a variety of concepts in the area of IoT and cloud computing.
Papers for the Special Issue must provide a substantial novel contribution, and authors must carefully situate their work with regard to the relevant scientific literature. They must clearly address research issues of Internet of Things and Cloud and show the role of modelling and simulation in studying IoT and cloud systems performance. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Network Design and Architecture
Software Architecture and Middleware
Data and Knowledge Management
Context-awareness and Location-awareness
Security, Privacy and Trust
Performance Evaluation and Modelling
Networking and Communication Protocols
Machine to Machine Communication
Intelligent Systems for Cloud and Services Computing
Manuscripts should be submitted online through the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) at the following link: http://ees.elsevier.com/simpat.
Authors must select Special Issue: IoT - Cloud when they reach the “Article Type” step in the on-line submission process. Submitted manuscripts should present original contributions and must not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers will be peer reviewed according to the high standards of the Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory Elsevier journal.
Please feel free to contact the Guest Editor for any questions.
