Call For Papers
International Conference on Applied Research in Computer Science and Engineering (ICAR’15)
October 8th and 9th -2015, Université Antonine and Université Saint-Joseph - Lebanon
“The International Conference on Applied Research in Computer Science and Engineering - (ICAR’15)”
Research efforts involving several disciplines in particularly computer science and engineering are going beyond expectations but in many occasions remain at a theoretical level. It goes without saying that one of the primary purposes of research is the application of knowledge to serve the global society. Many companies are learning that in order to further their growth and innovation they need to partner with scientists and researchers to develop proper mechanisms that convey the emerging advances of modern research. With this in mind, ICAR ‘15 aims to bring together scientists of the computer science and engineering disciplines to share and exchange knowledge, experience and results, particularly in applied research that may help meet the needs of local industries and academic institutions.
The ICAR’15 is more than just an international conference, but rather an academic platform, to discuss research and publications among young and talented students, scientists, engineers, and professionals. It offers an opportunity for participants to meet with experts and discuss cutting-edge approaches, insights that address the revolutionary aspects of nowadays technologies. ICAR’15 seeks contributions in the following areas:
Automated Software Engineering
Bioinformatics and Scientific Computing
Big Data Analytics
Big Data Applications
Big Data Management
Big Data Case Studies
Cloud Computing Architectures
Cloud Migration and Configuration
Cloud Virtualization and Provisioning
Cloud Security and Privacy
Compilers and Interpreters
Computer Architecture & VLSI
Computer Architecture and Embedded Systems
Computing Practices & Applications
Digital Signal Processing
Event Driven Programming
High Performance Computing
Natural Language Processing
Parallel and Distributed Computing
Reconfigurable Computing Systems
Security & Cryptography
ICAR’15 will include keynote sessions hosting international experts to present and discuss state-of-the-art technologies and techniques, research sessions allowing researchers to present their research results, a tutorial session and a poster session allowing selected computer science and computer engineering students to present and promote their final year projects.
Call for Submissions
We invite researchers, academics and professionals to submit papers describing original results of conceptual, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in all areas of Applied Research in Computer Science and Engineering.
Contributions can be of full-length papers (8 pages), short papers (4 pages), posters and abstracts, that address the themes and topics related to the conference.
Papers must be formatted according to the ACM proceedings format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates) and submitted in electronic form (PDF) using EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icar20150).
Selection criteria will include: relevance, significance, impact, originality, technical soundness, and quality of presentation. At least one author should attend the conference to present the paper. Papers that do not comply with the instructions and size limits will be rejected.
Call for Tutorials
ICAR’15 seeks tutorial proposals up to two hours that should provide focused teaching material covering new and emerging topics within the scope of the conference. Tutorials may be lectures, interactive workshops, hands-on training, or any combination of the above. These tutorials should be presented by subject matter experts to reflect the high academic and research standards of the conference. Exploring diverse ways of interacting with the audience is welcome as are cross-disciplinary topics.
We encourage submissions of tutorial proposals on all topics of the conference.
A tutorial proposal should include the following:
1- A brief description of the tutorial
2- One page Instructor(s) CV
4- Target Audience Information
5- Prerequisite knowledge of audience
6- Relevant references that would support proposal evaluation
Proposals should be emailed to email@example.com.
All submitted conference papers will be blind peer reviewed by at least two competent reviewers. Accepted papers will be published by ACM and submitted to be indexed by the ACM Digital Library and DBLP (pending). The conference proceedings book & CD and certificate of presentation will be distributed to the conference participants at the conference registration desk.
