Call For Papers

The IEEE Seventh International Conference on Biometrics: Theory,
Applications and Systems (BTAS 2015), a continuation of the highly
successful BTAS conference series started in 2007, will be held in the
September 8 - 11, 2015 time period in Arlington, Virginia in the
Washington, DC area (USA). BTAS 2015 is a premier research conference
focused on all aspects of biometrics. It is intended to have a broad
scope, including advances in fundamental signal processing, image
processing, pattern recognition, and statistical and mathematical
techniques relevant to biometrics.

BTAS 2015 topics will include biometrics based on voice, fingerprint,
iris, face, handwriting, gait, and other modalities. Multi-modal
biometrics, soft biometrics, new biometrics based on novel sensing
technologies, and biometrics for mobile-devices will receive particular
attention. Papers examining usability and social impacts of biometrics
technology are encouraged.

For more details, including paper submission deadlines, please see

Call for Special Sessions
The organizing committee welcomes proposals for organizing special
sessions at BTAS 2015. The aim of these sessions is to highlight fields
of special and emerging interest in biometrics.

Suggested areas include:
• On using biometrics and forensics to provide evidence in a court of law
• On the use of cognitive psychology in biometric analysis
• Mobile biometrics
• Post-mortem biometrics
• Biometric system usability and ergonomics
• Biometrics in the cloud

Special Session proposals on other areas not indicated above are also
welcome and highly encouraged. For more details, please see
http://btas2015.org/Call_for_Special_Sessions.html

Call for Tutorials
The organizing committee is pleased to invite tutorial proposals for
BTAS 2015. Tutorials can be for either half-a-day or full day. Tutorials
will be held on 08 September 2015, a day before the main conference begins.

Tutorial proposals can address either emerging or established research
topics that will be of broad interest to the biometrics community.
Tutorials are expected to offer an opportunity for BTAS 2015
participants to acquire technical knowledge in emerging and/or
established research areas in biometrics. Examples of topics may
include, but are not limited to biometric security, forensics, and other
challenging biometric applications such as remote and/or non-cooperative
biometrics applications; biometric information fusion; latest
advancements in various modalities; usability and user-centered studies;
and performance assessment.
