Scope:
Currently, the design of consumer electronic devices becomes more and more autonomous without user intervention. A system can adapt itself to meet different requirements or support possible user applications automatically. This means the current system design gradually becomes smart service-oriented. Such design concepts are widely adopted in different application fields, such as mobile phones, wearable devices, vehicle information and communication system, and other consumer electronic devices. However, the smart system design still faces many challenges, especially in adaptation policies, hardware/software infrastructure, application performance, and design analysis. As a result, to support complete system development, smart and adaptive policies, complete hardware/software infrastructure, efficient system analytic models, and novel architecture design thus become more and more important. Related investigators are invited to contribute original research articles that contribute to smart reconfigurable system modeling, design, and implementation. We are particularly interested in articles describing emerging system designs, including smart and reconfigurable policies, hardware/software infrastructures, and system modeling and analytic techniques. Potential topics include, but not limited to: • Smart and Autonomous Policies • Novel Reconfigurable or Adaptive Techniques • Application-Specific Architecture Design • System Specification, Modeling, and Analysis • Emerging Hardware/Software Design Guest Editors: Pao-Ann Hsiung, National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan Tei-Wei Kuo, National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica, Taiwan Yuan-Hao Chang, Academia Sinica, Taiwan Chun-Hsian Huang, National Taitung University, Taiwan Timelines : Submission deadline: May 1, 2015 Acceptance deadline: December 1, 2015 Expected publication date: March 1, 2016 Submission instructions: Manuscripts are subject to peer review and should be submitted online at http://ees.elsevier.com/micpro by May 1, 2015.
