IFASC INTERNATIONAL FINE ARTS STUDENT CONGRESS 2015
"Innovation In Art"
Maltepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts is organizing the Third Annual International Fine Arts Students Congress to all undergraduate (BA) students from Turkey and abroad. MA students will be able to participate only if this is their fourth year of study (countries where the BA is 3 years long ONLY) will be held at Maltepe University in Istanbul, Turkey on 6-8 April 2015. Previous conferences have attracted students and faculties from twelve countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America. This year’s topic will be “Innovation in Art”.
Suggested general topics for presentations:
• What is the future of arts considering the massive use of digital technologies?
• What is necessary today for a fine arts education?
• What has been and will be the effect of globalization on art and art education?
• How can art free itself from the boundaries of the marketplace?
• How is art ideology changing? Or is it changing?
• What are the emerging ideas related to the production of art and design?
• How do we nurture creativity and what are the challenges in this process?
• Trends and movements in the world of art in 21St century.

(Abstract Submission Deadline is extended in 16 January 2015 ) and contain a clear outline of theoretical framework, the theme or the work in discussion.
English and Turkish are the official languages of the conference. Individual and group proposals will be considered and must not exceed ten minutes. Individual abstracts must be more than 300 and less than 400 words in length. Group presentations may not include more than two presenters. Each presenter must submit an abstract not exceeding 200 words. All abstracts will be published in the Congress Book.
We encourage lecturers, teachers and professors to circulate this call widely across your undergraduate students, as this will be a unique occasion to visit the city of Istanbul. Participating students will be joining fellow students from Turkey and across the world to debate the raising issues in the area of fine arts in a conference organized by students for students, with the support of staff at Maltepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. There is NO REGISTRATION FEE. Participants will be provided housing on campus in the five-star Marma Hotel.(www.marmakongremerkezi.com)
