After more than seventeen years of research work in software aging and rejuvenation (SAR), this is the international event to bring together researchers and practitioners involved with the theoretical and experimental aspects of software aging and rejuvenation. As a satellite event of the premier symposium, ISSRE 2014, this workshop aims to provide a unique forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the state of the art and the new challenges in software aging and rejuvenation research, as well as providing a unique opportunity for establishing collaborations among several research groups interested in this research field.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
This call is an invitation to all researchers and practitioners with an interest about the following topics (but not limited to):
Modeling and characterization of the software aging phenomenon.
Design, implementation, and evaluation of rejuvenation mechanisms.
Aging monitoring and rejuvenation applied to industrial, large-scale, and mission critical systems.
Modeling, analysis and implementation of rejuvenation scheduling.
Experimental and empirical software aging detection techniques.
Prediction models for mean time to aging-related failures.
Machine learning applied to software aging characterization.
Control theory applied to software aging and rejuvenation.
Survivability applied to software aging and rejuvenation.
Test strategies on aging-related faults.
Aging-oriented reliability growth models and reliability assessment.
Novel applications for software rejuvenation.
Reports and analysis of real case studies.
Software rejuvenation benchmarking and metrics.
For all the above suggested topics, WoSAR is a unique forum to discuss the software aging and rejuvenation impacts on different domains of applicability such as: cloud computing, smart-grids, mobile, transportation, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, medical devices, system of systems, and others.

Authors from academia, industry and government are invited to submit high quality unpublished research work describing the results of theoretical and experimental SAR research. After rigorous review, all the accepted papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
Papers must be written in English and be formatted according to the IEEE authoring guidelines (http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting/). Full papers should not exceed the size limit of six pages IEEE style. Paper submission will be done electronically through EasyChair (https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=wosar2014).
