Aims and Scope
The fourth series of the International Workshop on Situated Computing for Pervasive Environments (SCOPE-2014) is dedicated to the dissemination of works in progress that are related to the theories of emerging paradigms yet most importantly of their applicability towards autonomous adaptation to complex environments caused from highly dynamic user contexts. In particular, SCOPE-2014 will discuss advances in location based services, situated and pervasive computing, as well as their infrastructures, that is to say about technologies for, and computational devices having the autonomous ability of adapting, detecting, interpreting and responding to the personalized future smart environments.

The main topic areas include, but are not limited to:
 Autonomous Adaptation and Personalized Environments
 Changing Network Environments and Recommender Systems
 Distributed Environments, Crowd Sourcing, Cloud, Inter-cloud and Collaborative Computing
 User Needs, Profiles, Interfaces and Complex Environments
 Middleware and Information Security in Pervasive Network Computing
 Wireless and Middleware for Pervasive Network Computing
 Sensor and Robots Networks in Pervasive Network Computing, Internet of Things
 Programming Interfaces for Smart Environments and Ambient Intelligence
 Transparency, Locality and Scalability Issues in Middleware for Pervasive Network Computing
 Interfaces and Methods for Interconnection of Heterogeneous Networks and Devices
 Database Access Management and Middleware, Database Interface Layering for Sensor Networks
 Data Management for Smart and Pervasive Environments
 Context-awareness and Personalization in Pervasive Computing Environments
 Intelligent Preference Query Languages and Interfaces for Pervasive Network Computing
 New Interactive Styles (of Human Computer Interaction) in Pervasive Network Computing

Workshop Program Committee

Submission
Submitted papers must be original and not submitted for publication elsewhere. A paper of between 4-6 pages long (Conference Proceedings Manuscript: two column, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 font size, and number each page. You can find instructions to format the Proceedings Manuscript, at the following web page: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting

Full submission guidelines are available from: http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/conf/eidwt/2014/submission.html

Prepare your paper and submit it electronically to the EDAS online submission system: http://edas.info/N13567 To submit, you must follow the instructions, and select the SCOPE-2014 workshop among the options. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance.

All papers will be peer reviewed by at two or more independent referees of the SCOPE-2014 TPC and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit, originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition.

Proceedings
All accepted SCOPE workshop paper submissions will be included in the proceedings of the main conference. All accepted papers must be accompanied by a full paid registration by at least one of the authors in order to be included in the proceedings.

Special Issue
Extended versions of presented papers at SCOPE-2014 international workshop will be considered for publication in an International Journal Special Issue.
