Call For Papers

The Spacecraft and Launch Vehicle Dynamic Environments Workshop is an annual forum to discuss the best approaches for designing, modeling, analyzing, and testing modern space systems for loads, acoustics, vibration, and shock.

The workshop is intended to be informal, enabling attendees from various U.S. and non-U.S. organizations to exchange ideas and information. The workshop is structured similar to a technical conference, but focuses more narrowly and attempts to avoid the formalities associated with journals and proceedings publications.

The main purposes for the workshop are to:
• Permit payload designers to discuss the availability and adequacy of booster dynamic environments data for use in design, analysis, test, and operations
• Discuss concerns in vehicle design and test to meet
dynamic environments specifications
• Exchange state-of-the-art methods of solving
dynamic environments problems
• Update the status and results of ongoing research studies in the dynamic environments field applicable to spacecraft and launch vehicle design or test
• Improve communications between launch vehicle
and spacecraft organizations to increase the
efficiency of the integration process

Plenary Presentations will be 20 minutes long plus five to 10 minutes for questions. Submit a one-paragraph abstract describing the results of your work, work in progress, or case studies relevant to the workshop objectives. Abstracts may be submitted to the workshop coordinators and should summarize the claims, scope, methodology, and generality of the work.

Proceedings -- Papers are not requested. Presentation slides (in electronic format) should be submitted to sclv-workshop@aero.org for presentation. In addition, presenters should bring at least 50 hard copies of the presentation slides to the workshop.

Submission Information
• Abstracts due: April 14
• Notification of acceptance: April 18
• Accepted presentations due: May 20

All sessions are unclassified. Presenters are responsible for obtaining any clearances required by their organizations. Representatives from non-U.S. organizations are invited to participate.
