Fourth Workshop on Software Defined Radio (SDR) for Realtime Communication and Signal Processing

Hands on training in basic Signal Processing, Filter Design, Communication Experiments with GNU Software Defined Radio and Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). Instruction for doing two dozen well defined Software Defined Radio (SDR) experiments for understanding basic communication theory will be given.

Objectives

Making even first year Engineering students to understand advanced communication engineering concepts with +2 mathematics
Morphing a Computer Engineer into a Communication Engineer (for inter-disciplinary research)
Real time implementation of Advanced communication concepts like OFDM, MIMO
Modeling Wireless communication system parameters (Multipath Channel model, Channel estimation, Synchronization)

It is first time in the history of Modern Communication Engineering every student can possess general purpose communication systems for experimentation
It can do transmission and reception
Supports all types of waveform
It can receive data from variety of sources like satellites, Cell phone (GSM), HAM, FM, AM, Analog and Digital TV.
Ultra Cheap SDR hardware will be provided for every participant for Communication and Signal processing implementations.
