THE 5TH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM “LANGUAGE, CULTURE, CIVILIZATION”

Craiova, 3rd to 5th of April 2014

As always, our colloquium is open to teachers and researchers in higher education in the country and abroad. Also, as in previous editions – in line with the profile of our department and in respect to multilingualism – communications will be supported in one of the Romanian, English, French, Italian, Spanish or German language, the only condition being the existence of at least 5 participants with the same communication language.

Plurilinguism we refer originated in European humanism, sense in which, as emphasize Christian Tremblay, President of the European Plurilingvism Observer (OEP): "we do not juxtapose common but open society that communicates interact and intertwine even create new identities, while keeping their own identity and contributing to its development."

Encouraging diversity of opinion and freedom of expression, the organizers expect to proposals (i) novel that can come from any area humanist, from linguistics to literature, from anthropology to sociology, from ethnography to folklore, from history to philosophy etc., but all must be circumscribed to one of the three traditional components of our symposium: Language, Culture, Civilization.

Proposals for communications can be sent to one of the addresses: dlsa@central.ucv.ro or lbala@central.ucv.ro until February 20, 2014 and must contain mandatory:

- Title of paper (in a supportive and language)
- A summary (minimum 200 words in language support)
- 3-5 keywords (in support)
- A Bibliography (5 titles)

CALENDAR:

- February 20, 2014 - submission of proposals
- February 28, 2014 - confirmation of acceptance by the scientific committee

FEE: RON 150 (Romanian teachers and researchers)
€ 40 (teachers and foreign researchers)

The fee covers the presentation folder and coffee breaks, and publishing and sending volumes of Proceedings of the symposium.

Articles accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in the journal Annals of University of Craiova, Series Philological Sciences, Applied Foreign Languages, 10th Year, No. 1 (11)/2014, ISSN: 1841-8074, which will appear at "Universitaria" Publishing House in Craiova, CNCS (National Council of Scientific Research) recognized publisher.
