Aims and Scope

With the exciting title 'Gut-Brain-Axis' we would like to open an interdisciplinary discussion of the newest findings on how gut microbiota signal to the central nervous system and vice versa. We encourage researchers to present their data on the relation between the gut microbiota and neurodegenerative, psychiatric diseases to uncover novel therapeutic strategies. In general, we would like to focus on the communication between the immune sytem and the central nervous system. Furthermore, changes in the immune homeostasis of those cardinal systems will be discussed. In addition, the network of the enteric nervous system will be reviewed.
