Structural Health Monitoring
Embedded Symposium organized by
Dr. M. Koerdt, O. Focke (Faserinstitut Bremen e.V.)
Prof. Dr. T. Becker, M. Bach (EADS-IW)
Dr. C. Kupferschmidt (Fraunhofer IWES)
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
o Fundamental technologies for the realization of SHM systems in aerospace, wind energy and similar structures.
o Techniques for application, surface and bulk integration of sensorial properties, sensors and sensor networks in mechanically loaded materials and structures.
o Technological developments and strategies facilitating the step from load monitoring to real-time damage detection, analysis and remaining service life prediction, including developments in the field of data evaluation, system identification etc.
o Regulatory boundary conditions for practical implementation of SHM systems in aerospace structures.
o Long term stability and reliability of sensor networks in demanding environments.
o Methods and tools for dimensioning of components based on sensor-equipped materials.
o Sensor network energy supply systems balancing energy harvesting, storage, management and use for maximum system autonomy.
o Interaction between integrated sensors and sensor networks and mechanical performance of structures, etc.
