EES2013 – Call for Papers
=========================

Within the context of the energy turnaround – in particular the German “Energiewende” – the local energy economy undergoes far-reaching structural changes. Main trends such as fragmentation and decentralisation of market participants are likely to continue and even increase. Thus, the complexity of the energy systems is to rise, too. Concurrently, new chances and challenges for consumers, producers and the grid itself arise from these trends.

The concept of “ecosystems” opens up new vistas towards trends in the energy economy. Energy ecosystems represent the complex interaction between a multitude of individual participants and subsystems in an efficient overall system in which the subsystems are developed. Driven and used by different organisations. Energy ecosystems become smart systems when technical, economic and socio-cultural participants get interconnected by ICT technology such as mobile- and cloud computing, social and semantic web or big data forming new solutions, business models and products.

The EES2013 embraces scientific contributions concerning energy ecosystems focusing on production, network/infrastructure, consumption and innovation processes in particular but not exclusively regarding:

* Methods and tools for information system integration of distributed energy systems
* Customer aspects, user behaviour and flexible demand
* Regulatory aspects, market design and business models
* ICT requirements for new markets and new business models
* Standards, information models and reference models in energy supply
* Communication techniques in the smart grid
* Data, information and architecture models in power systems and of ICT
* Smart meter infrastructure and smart metering information systems
* Value-added services to end customers and business
* Data management and analytics
* Processes from the producers, consumers and infrastructure
* Smart cities and cross energy-domain solutions including home automation
* Experiences from field tests and large-scale demonstrations
