Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
The ULOOP/NEMPS Summer School 2013 PhD Forum provides an environment for doctoral students to present and discuss their ongoing research both with peers and experts from academia and industry. The Forum provides students with an opportunity to get feedback on their ongoing work, as well as to get acquainted with new advances in the field. The forum gives students worldwide the opportunity to mingle with peers, as well as with senior researchers coming from industry and from academia. This is a unique opportunity for the exchange of know-how; to get feedback from experts concerning the research being developed, as well as to get a better perspective on future opportunities.
The ULOOP/NEMPS Summer School 2013 has as main motivation to disseminate and to provide know-how concerning aspects related to pervasive systems. In regards to pervasive systems we provide lectures by international experts in the following topics: user-centric wireless network aspects such as social trust management and cooperation incentives; mobility estimation and management; intelligent resource management. Moreover, the Summer School shall also give insight into three new exciting applicability fields: people-centric services; cooperative ITS; machine-to-machine communications. The PhD Forum is hosted by SITILabs, University Lusófona, and is supported by the European project ULOOP – User-centric Wireless Local Loop – and by the PhD programme NEMPS (New Media and Pervasive Systems) of University Lusófona. The PhD Forum takes place on day 4 (04.07.2012) of the ULOOP/NEMPS Summer School, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The students selected shall provide an extended abstract (maximum 2 pages, double column IEEE Trans) and a poster (A1) describing their current dissertation work. Posters shall be grouped accordingly to the different topics of the ULOOP summer school, namely: Community detection and social interaction Dynamic trust management models and cooperation incentive models Distributed mobility management Human behavior and mobility prediction Virtual currency architectures and models Resource management in spontaneous environments Cooperative networking Submission Details Each candidate must provide an extended abstract (up to 2 pages), comprising at least: motivation; challenges; use-cases; related work and if available initial results. Upon acceptance, the student must prepare a poster (format A1) based on the extended abstract, and add 1 document with a small bio. All submissions, abstracts and biographical sketches must be in PDF only and provided online. *** The best extended abstracts shall be invited to integrate the ULOOP Book 2013, and the best paper in the Forum will be awarded with an iPad Mini engraved "Best Paper Award - PhD Forum - ULOOP Summer School 2013" *** Relevant dates Submission deadline: May 3rd, 2013 Notification of acceptance: June 3rd, 2013 Final version of abstracts and posters upload: June 29th, 2013 PhD Forum: July 4th, 2013 How to submit Via EDAS: https://www.edas.info/showConferenceDetails.php?c=14697 Registration Registration fee for the PhD Forum is of 150 Euros per student.
