Geophysical methods, such as seismology, gravimetry, or geomagnetism, are very important tools that can help structural geologists to better understand the Earths structures and tectonic features. In addition to classical geological field work, geophysical methods allow imaging and creating structural models of the subsurface. For example, seismological data allow for large-scale tomography, seismic data can be used for mapping structural traps in hydrocarbon reservoirs, or gravimetry and geomagnetism can offer a deep structural image of the Earth. In many cases a correct interpretation of geological surface observations is only possible by combining them with geophysical methods.

The main goal of this session is to show how geophysical methods can help structural geological interpretations. Both oral and poster presentations of case studies showing how classical geological field work can be enriched by geophysical methods are welcome.
