Welcome to the 20th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP2013).

The International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP) is an annual conference of the Asia Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA). It has become one of the premier international conferences in the area of neural networks.

The birth of ICONIP took place in Seoul, Korea in 1994. Since then it came of ages and is stepping into adulthood in the same country where it has taken shape. We are glad to announce that the 20th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP2013) will be held in Daegu, Korea. Being the third largest city in Korea, Daegu is a gateway to numerous cultural heritages and tourist attractions which proudly display the unique Korean culture with Buddhist and Confucian traditions. Therefore a perfect place to appreciate the true Asian culture. In addition, Daegu is going to be the heart of brain science and engineering research with newly established Korea Brain Research Institute since 2012.

ICONIP 2013 aims to provide a high-level international forum for scientists, engineers, educators, and students from all over the world to share their ideas and discuss future research directions in the field of neural information processing to address new challenges. This conference will feature invited plenary talks by world-renowned scholars in the areas of neural network theory and applications, computational neuroscience and others. In addition to regular technical sessions with oral and poster presentations, the conference program will include special sessions and tutorials on topics of current interest.
