Call for Book Chapters
Book Title: Energy Policy Modeling in 21st Century Publisher: Springer-US Editor: Hassan Qudrat-Ullah, York University, Toronto, Canada hassanq@yorku.ca The use of model-based analysis and scenarios in energy policy design and assessment has seen a phenomenal growth during the past several decades. Primary focus of this modeling activity has been to study energy-economy interactions and impacts. On the other hand, we are witnessing a global trend of energy planning efforts, increasingly focusing on energy-low carbon economy interactions. The renewed concerns about climate change and energy security pose unique modeling challenges. Therefore, the primary aim of this book is to disseminate the roles and applications of various modeling approaches aimed at improving the usefulness of energy policy models in public decision making. The key focus is on the development, validation, and applications of system dynamics and agent-based models in service of energy policy design and assessment in 21st century. Important Dates: Chapter Proposal: August 31, 2012 Acceptance Notification: September 10, 2012 Chapter Submission: October 31, 2012 Final Chapter Submission: January 31, 2012 Expected Publication (hard copy print): May/June, 2013 Call for Chapter Proposal. A chapter proposal should include the chapter title, the authors list, and an extended abstract of the proposed chapter. The extended abstract (2-3 page) should fully explain the (i) topic(s), (ii) the goal(s) of the chapter, (iii) a brief description of model (agent-based or system dynamics based) validation methods/procedures used in your chapter, and (iv) demonstrated utility of your model/work. A list of related keywords and a (tentative) table of content of the chapter are welcomed. The core of your chapter should include the applications of various system dynamics and/ or agent-based simulation models in the areas of energy-low carbon economy interactions, climate change, and energy security. Proposals can be submitted by e-mail to the Editor, Hassan Qudrat-Ullah, (hassanq@yorku.ca). After the acceptance notification, the author will be requested to send the first draft of the chapter. The chapter will be reviewed and comments will be sent to the authors that can provide a final version of the chapter according to the reviewers and/or Editor’s comments. Guideline for manuscript preparation will be sent later to the accepted authors. |
