The propagation of service-oriented computing increases the demand to develop and apply new techniques and
approaches to support it. For example, process mining techniques are able to extract knowledge from event logs for discovery, conformance and enhancement of business processes. The challenge is to combine these techniques for fostering the web services paradigm. With this regard, mining techniques can be applied to extract information from service logs. This can provide information about service processes and executions to support service discovery, conformance checking (i.e. deviations from service level agreements) and enhancement (i.e. quality improvement). The first MTSOC 2012 international workshop aims to present recent research findings on mining techniques and the application of them in service-oriented computing. We welcome papers from both academia and industry to present and discuss related research and experiences. Special interests are on papers addressing service quality improvement using mining approaches. Topics Process Mining in Service Oriented Architecture Service Process Mining Quality of Service Service Quality Improvement using Process Mining Service Discovery and Mining Web Service Protocol Discovery Behavioral Model Discovery from Service Logs Social Mining Business Service Modeling and Business Process Modeling Service Adaptation and Conformance Checking using Mining Service Change Management Business Intelligence and Analytics for Services Service Recommendation Important Dates (Workshop chairs can grant extension to individuals under special circumstances provided that the hard deadline for the camera-ready version is respected.) Paper Submission Deadline: July 31, 2012 Paper Acceptance Notification: September 15, 2012 Camera Ready Paper & Copyright: October 1, 2012 Submission Authors are invited to submit original, previously unpublished research papers written in English. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by members of the international program committee. Paper acceptance will be based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. Accepted papers will be included in the workshop proceedings, and will be published by Springer-Verlag. Full research papers should not exceed 12 pages in the Springer LNCS style format including all text, references, appendices, and figures. Please submit papers in PDF via Easychair. At least one author of an accepted paper must register and participate in the workshop. Please see details at the ICSOC website.
