Workshop date: December 3-6, 2012

Workshop Description
--------------------
The Workshop intends to provide an opportunity to researchers and
practitioners to present and discuss current research directions and
open issues in adopting Data Mining and Predictive Analytics tools in
Cloud Computing. The Workshop intends to facilitate the exchange of
ideas between two main research communities, Cloud Computing and Data
Mining. It also intends to attract scientists from other disciplines
like Mathematics, Biology, Neuroscience, etc., which ultimately benefit
from mining their data in the Cloud.
Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical
aspects of Data Analytics and Mining in the Cloud are solicited. Topics
include, but are not limited to:
• Predictive Analytics in Cloud Computing, Data Mining workflows in
Cloud Computing, Data mining tools as SaaS and PaaS
• Integration of Predictive Models in Cloud environments, e.g., the
Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML);
• Integration of tools for data mining and business intelligence
• Distributed and Parallel Data Mining
• Mining Big Data, Hadoop, MapReduce
• Fault-tolerant Data Mining
• Online Learning on Data Streams
• Data security and privacy issues in Cloud Computing
• Predictive Analytics and Data Mining supporting Configuration,
Management and Monitoring of Cloud Computing infrastructures,
Distributed Systems, Federated Databases and Large-Scale Networked
Applications
We also welcome submissions on reports of Data Mining applications based
on Cloud Computing of particular interest. Application domains include,
but are not limited to:
• Data Networks, Autonomous and Autonomic Networks, Mobile ad-hoc
Networks (MANET), Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Internet of Things
• Bioinformatics, System Biology, Neuroscience, Chemoinformatics
• Statistics, Astronomy, Physics, Meteorology
• Medicine and Health Care
