Call For Papers

The FedCSIS 2012 Steering Committee invites proposals for tutorials to be presented at the 2012 Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems (Wrocław, Poland, 9-12 September, 2012).

The FedCSIS tutorials will be held on September the 8th, preceding start of the conference. Tutorials will be of half-day or full-day duration. Tutorial notes will be published electronically in a companion USB stick.

Proposals should be 2-4 pages in length and include the following:
1. Title of the tutorial and its length (1/2 day or 1 day).
2. Name(s) of the instructor(s) and their contact information (email, phone, WWW).
3. A short biographical note of each instructor targeting their background in the tutorial area and their experience in delivering tutorials in the past.
4. Short Abstract (1-2 paragraphs suitable for inclusion in conference registration materials).
5. List of topics with description (1-2 pages for review).
6. Target audience description, including prerequisite knowledge expected from participants.
7. References that would support proposal evaluation.
Tutorial proposals should be prepared in a single pdf file and emailed directly to the Tutorials Chair at and Cc-ed to FedCSIS Secretariat at

1) For the tutorial to take place, it must attract a minimal number of registered (and paid) participants. This number is set at 10 participants. FedCSIS reserves a right to cancel the tutorial in case of insufficient registrations.
2) Compensation for a tutorial presentation (in the case of 10 registered (and paid) participants):
a) FedCSIS covers either travel cost of a single organizer/presenter (economy class airline, within Europe) plus fixed amount of money for hotel (up to 200 PLN) – equivalent of a single night in a hotel with breakfast – we can make the reservation for the tutorial organizer and cover the cost directly (no need to pay for the hotel)
b) FedCSIS covers a single conference fee (but in this case FedCSIS does not cover travel and accommodations) – this is primarily for a tutorial organizer who is planning to come to the conference with a paper and in this way (s)he will cover cost of travel and accommodation, but will have full conference fee waiver (which includes conference social events).
c) For each additional 10 registered (and paid) participants, FedCSIS can cover cost (on the same basis as above) of an additional organizer / presenter, or can combine the compensations in points 2a and 2b.
d) Regardless of the number of paid participants, there will be no direct financial benefits to tutorial organizer(s).

Tutorial proposal submission: June 17, 2012
Tutorial acceptance/rejection decisions: June 24, 2012
Tutorial go/no-go decisions based on registrations: July 31, 2012
