1st Information Retrieval, DAta MIning
and Reversing Engineering Workshop
IR-DAMIRE 2012
(DEADLINE EXTENTED)
EGC-M 2012 Satellite workshop
http://egcm.uae.ma/index.php/en/
November 12, 2012, Hammamet, Tunisia

The workshop will be collocated with EGC-M 2012, the third International Conference on Extraction and Management of Knowledge. The purpose of the information retrieval, data mining and reverse engineering workshop is to provide a meeting forum for stimulating and disseminating research in information retrieval, complex data mining, reverse engineering and their interaction particularly among researchers in the Maghreb countries.

The workshop will offer an opportunity to present and discuss empirical and conceptual research. Some of the major concerns are:
• Efficiency and effectiveness related problems of modern Large Scale Information Retrieval.
• Analysis of software to extract knowledge about its structure and functionalities and use this knowledge to improve the quality of software and software process.
• Increased collaboration between different research groups in order to explore new and ground-breaking ideas.

Topics covered include (but are not restricted to):

• Theoretical distributed retrieval models
• User models and query processing
• Processing and search of e-mail, spam's, blogs
• Categorization, topic tracking and event detection
• Context-based Information Retrieval (IR) and personalization
• Ontologies for IR
• Web IR, Distributed IR (DIR), enterprise search, search of digital libraries, intranet search, desktop search
• Collaborative filtering, recommender systems
• Benchmarking for DIR
• Evaluation of DIR
• Multilingual and cross-lingual retrieval
• Structured document retrieval, XML-IR
• Semantics based Information Retrieval in Software Engineering
• Information Retrieval Applications in Software Development.
• Architecture Discovery from source code
• Mining of software repositories
• Models of software evolution based on historical repository data
• Characterization, classification, and prediction of software defects based on analysis of software repositories
• Mining execution traces and logs

Paper submission details:
We invite high-quality papers reporting original research on all aspects of knowledge discovery, data mining and reverse engineering. We especially encourage submissions that promote the advancement of KDD as a scientific and engineering discipline and submissions that bridge between different disciplines. All submitted papers will be judged based on their technical soundness, potential impact, rigor, significance, originality, repeatability, relevance, and clarity. Papers submitted to IR-DAMIRE 2012 should be original work, not previously published in a peer-reviewed conference or journal. Substantially similar versions of the paper submitted to IR-DAMIRE 2012 should not be under review in another peer-reviewed conference or journal during the IR-DAMIRE 2012 reviewing period.
Duplicate submissions are not allowed. Authors are expected to agree to the following terms: "I understand that the paper being submitted must not overlap substantially with any other paper that I am a co-author of and that is currently submitted elsewhere. Furthermore, previously published papers with any overlap are cited prominently in this submission." Duplicate submissions will be rejected immediately without review.
Author information’s:
Authors are welcome to submit original contributions on the topics of the workshop. As a rule, all the contributions will be peer-reviewed by three members of the Program Committee and thereafter by the members of the Steering Committee, who will finally decide on acceptance of the papers. All the accepted contributions will be published in the proceedings book of the conference.
Authors are invited to electronically submit original research contributions or experience reports in English or French. The submitted manuscript should closely reflect the final paper as it will appear in the proceedings.
Formatting instructions:
Contributions, written in English or French, must be formatted according to the guidelines of the ACM style (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). The length of the contribution must be no more than 6 pages double column in the ACM format, including figures, title pages, references and appendices. Any submission that exceeds length limits or deviates from formatting requirements may be rejected without review. Only papers using the LaTeX typesetting system in formatting the paper are accepted.
All submitted papers will be judged through triple-blind reviewing, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the reviewers. As an author, you are required to make a good-faith effort to preserve the anonymity of your submission, while at the same time allowing the reader to fully grasp the context of related past work, including your own. Common sense and careful writing will go a long way towards preserving anonymity. Please take the following steps when preparing your submission:
- Remove the names and affiliations of authors from the title page.
- Remove acknowledgment of identifying names and funding sources.
- Use care in naming your files. Source file names (e.g., "Alice-n-Bob.dvi") are often embedded in the final output as readily accessible comments.
- Use care in referring to related work, particularly your own. Do not omit references to provide anonymity, as this leaves the reviewer unable to grasp the context. Instead, reference your past work in the third person, just as you would any other piece of related work by another author.

Electronic submission:
The papers, in format PDF, must be submitted only electronically before the submission deadline (See Important dates). The submission site will be open from June 2012. All abstracts, submissions and reviews are handled by the EasyChair conference system (http://www.easychair.org/).

Important dates:
* Submission due : September 5, 2012
* Author notification : October 01, 2012
* Camera-ready papers due : October 15, 2012
* Workshop date : November 12, 2012
