Call For Papers

Dear colleagues,

The following Special Issue will be published in Sensors
(http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sensors/, ISSN 1424-8220), and is now
open to receive submissions of full research papers and comprehensive
review articles for peer-review and possible publication:

Special Issue: Transducer Systems
Website: http://www.mdpi.com/si/sensors/transducer_systems/
Guest Editor: Prof. Dr. Urs Staufer
Deadline for manuscript submissions: 31 July 2012

We solicit review articles and original research papers on systems
architecture, systems integration and fabrication, back-end processing
and applications of transducer systems e.g., for metrology, process control,
ยต-fluidics. New sensing, actuating or generating concepts, which are
especially suited for systems integration, which make use of recently
discovered phenomena, or which allow measuring or controlling so far
inaccessible quantities are also considered.

Topics of this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:

* sensor MEMS and complete devices thereof
* actuator MEMS and complete devices thereof
* systems architecture, back-end technology
* packaging
* microfluidics
* MEMS for industrial applications
* MEMS in metrology
* MEMS in process control
* MEMS in surveillance
* MEMS systems integration
* very large scale integrated micromechanical systems

You may send your manuscript now or up until the deadline
Submitted papers should not have been published previously, nor be under
consideration for publication elsewhere. We also encourage authors to send
us their tentative title and short abstract by e-mail for approval to the
Editorial Office at sensors@mdpi.com.

This Special Issue will be fully open access. Open access (unlimited and
free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent
citations as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the
authors and their institutes. More information is available at
http://www.mdpi.com/about/openaccess/. Article Processing Charges
(APC) are of 1600 CHF per accepted article. For details see:
http://www.mdpi.com/about/apc/.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors before submitting a manuscript:
http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sensors/instructions/. Manuscripts should be
submitted through the online manuscript submission and editorial system at
http://www.mdpi.com/user/manuscripts/upload/.

Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220) is the leading international, peer-reviewed
open access journal on the science and technology of sensors and
biosensors, and is published by MDPI online monthly. Papers published in
Sensors will receive high publicity since the journal is freely available online.
Sensors is covered by leading indexing services, including the Science
Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Chemical Abstracts, INSPEC,
Scopus and CAB Abstracts, PubMed/MEDLINE. The most recent Impact
Factor for the year 2010 is 1.771.

MDPI publishes several peer-reviewed, open access journals listed at
http://www.mdpi.com/. The Editorial Board members, including several
Nobel Laureates (http://www.mdpi.com/about/nobelists/), are all leading
active scholars. All MDPI journals maintain rapid, yet rigorous, peer-
review, manuscript handling and editorial processes. MDPI journals have
increased their impact factors, see "2010 Newly Released Impact Factors",
http://www.mdpi.com/about/announcements/121/.

In case of questions, please contact the Editorial Office at:
sensors@mdpi.com

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
MDPI AG
