Due to the complexity and diversity of the domain, healthcare is characterized by task sharing and cooperation between many public and private institutions which carry tasks of medical treatment, billing and research. Thus, healthcare is highly dependent on the availability and the exchange of information. For many years, healthcare has made use of computer systems to handle the ever-increasing complexity and flood of information. However, the actual dissemination of computer systems in healthcare lags behind the expectations and does not yet provide the expected benefits. Individually tailored software solutions are often successfully used in specialized and locally confined settings. In contrast, large-scale networks for seamless exchange of information between institutions are still amiss. The architecture paradigm of service orientation seems ideally suited to structure software systems for networked healthcare: The individual tasks of institutions can be exposed as encapsulated software components (services) that can be effectively and cost-efficiently combined to form complex applications and carry out treatment processes. TOPICS In this workshop, we provide a platform for exchange of experts and researchers for questions of software engineering for such systems. Challenges that must be met in the design of such systems are interoperability and the heterogeneity of such systems, performance, scalability, information security and privacy and dependability - to name just a few. Particular domains of interest include: * IT-based support, simulation and optimization of treatment processes – conformance and compliance of services in the medical domain * service-based composition and integration of medical appliances * practical aspects of service interoperability and compatibility * temporal and logical constraints on services and processes in healthcare * formal methods and models for service-oriented architectures, dynamic coalitions and virtual organizations * privacy and trust in distributed or cloud-based healthcare scenarios * modeling and verification of privacy characteristics * scalable enactment of data-intensive workflows * clinical and biomedical applications of scientific workflows * graph data management and graph similarity SUBMISSIONS Papers can be submitted online through the submission website and can be between 5 and 15 pages long. Accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings GI-Edition "Lecture Notes in Informatics". All submissions have to follow the GI submission guidelines (see http://www.gi.de/service/publikationen/lni/). For every submission, at least one author is expected to register for the conference and present their work, otherwise submissions cannot be accepted and published.
