* Overview

The Requirements Engineering Track (RE-SAC'26) of the 41st ACM Symposium on Applied Computing aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners with an interest in applied requirements engineering. The 2026 edition of the track will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, and is the latest of 19 successful editions that have been annually offered since 2008. The ACM SAC is an exciting event in which applied computer scientists, computer engineers, and application developers with diverse interests and backgrounds gather, interact, and present their work.

We invite original contributions, including but not limited to technical solutions, empirical studies, industrial case studies, literature reviews, and theoretical contributions. In alignment with the main objectives of the SAC conference we particularly welcome papers with a direct impact to the practice of Requirements Engineering.

In addition SAC 2026 offers a Student Research Competition (SRC) program, which provides graduate students the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with researchers and practitioners in their areas of interest. Active students seeking feedback from the scientific community on their research ideas are invited to submit abstracts of their original unpublished and in-progress research work in areas related to RE-SAC.

* Paper Types and How to Submit

RE-SAC'26 accepts both Regular Papers and Student Research Competition (SRC) research abstracts.

. Regular Papers

Authors are invited to submit in all areas of Requirements Engineering. Review is double-blind. Authors' names, addresses, or any other information leading to the author's identification is forbidden, and self-references should be in the third person.

The maximum page length for the conference is 8 pages without extra-fee, and 10 with a fee per page. Submissions should be printable on a standard printer on common paper formats, such as US letter and A4.

Papers should not be submitted to more than one ACM-SAC track.

According to ACM SAC registration policy: Paper registration is mandatory to allow the inclusion of the work in the conference proceedings and in the ACM digital library. An author or a proxy must present the paper. No-show of registered papers and posters will result in their exclusion from the ACM digital library.

Additional information and submission link can be found at: https://www.sigapp.org/sac/sac2026/submission.php

. SRC Research Abstracts

Active graduate students seeking feedback from the scientific community on their research ideas are invited to submit abstracts of their original unpublished and in-progress research work in areas related to the RE-SAC RE-Track.

Abstracts must be authored by a single student only. Faculty advisor(s) cannot be listed as co-authors on the submission or on the final poster presentation. No group projects are allowed.

Maximum length for SRC Research Abstracts is 3 pages in ACM camera-ready format. More information and submission information can be found at: https://www.sigapp.org/sac/sac2026/src_program.php

The author kit for both kinds of papers is available at: https://www.sigapp.org/sac/sac2026/authorkit.php
