Nowadays, the healthcare field generates and processes vast amounts of data, including medical imaging, diagnostic reports, and patient records. These data need to be transferred via communication networks providing speed, efficiency, and reliability.
5G-and-beyond networks, along with Wi-Fi 6, enable enhanced connectivity by delivering high data rates, low latency, and seamless integration of licensed and unlicensed spectrum. Advancements in 5G and Wi-Fi can meet the requirements for communications in the healthcare sector, especially when data needs to be sent to the central Cloud for storage or processing. Cloud resources is the natural place where Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), can efficiently process the vast amount of medical data. Additionally, AI techniques play a crucial role in optimizing the collection and transmission of information across networks. AI-driven solutions can optimize network efficiency and automate decision-making, but eXplainable AI (XAI) is needed to enhance transparency and trust in these processes. Data processing, security, and decision-making are being revolutionized by the integration of AI and Explainable AI (XAI) in healthcare and next-generation networks. However, the complexity of AI models and the increasing risks of cyber-threats call for safe and robust networks to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as GDPR. The proposed workshop will provide researchers with the right platform to showcase the advancements regarding the use of AI and XAI in next-gen wireless and mobile networks in the context of healthcare, which has not been extensively investigated so far, especially in this important context. The goal is to gather a community of researchers from academia, government, and industry to share ideas, present novel research results, and encourage a discussion about future perspectives on these topics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: 5G Network architectures and protocols for medical applications Wi-Fi adoption in healthcare IoT and real-time medical data transmission AI adoption in healthcare and networks Network advancements in telemedicine 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and AI for Remote Patient Monitoring AI and ML in data processing, storage, and analytics AI for Secure and Intelligent Data Transmission for Healthcare AI-Driven Network Optimization for Healthcare Applications Interoperability and AI in Smart Healthcare Networks Privacy-Preserving AI in Networks for Healthcare Regulatory and Ethical Considerations for AI in Healthcare Networks Cybersecurity Challenges in AI-Powered Healthcare Systems Machine Learning for Anomaly Detection in Medical and Network Data Smart resource allocation for critical healthcare services Security and Privacy in Wireless Networks for Healthcare eXplainable AI (XAI) in Networks for Healthcare XAI for Trustworthy Medical Decision-Making AI-Powered Digital Twins for Healthcare and Network Optimization |
