REDESIGNING THE FUTURE OF WORK: A Multidisciplinary Analysis of Challenges and Future Solutions in the Age of Technological Disruption

This track addresses the challenges and opportunities currently faced by the global labor market and projected to face in the future, marked by the rapid evolution of technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and the digital economy. Recent forecasts suggest that a substantial portion of jobs may soon be performed entirely by AI, and many more are exposed to a high degree of automation. This track seeks to identify both the potential benefits and risks that these technologies represent for society. By addressing critical issues such as disparities in skill acquisition, job obsolescence, and the emergence of new work modalities, this track seeks to promote a holistic and multidimensional understanding of how we can effectively transition to an inclusive and ethical work future. Emphasizing a systematic and methodological approach, the track is designed to unravel the complex interactions between technology, work, and society, by integrating insights from a variety of disciplines. This multidisciplinary perspective is crucial for developing an all-encompassing framework that not only pinpoints the challenges on the horizon but also offers viable solutions and strategies for adaptation. Highlighting the urgent need for a redefinition of workforce skills and the implementation of forward-thinking educational strategies, this track aspires to prepare individuals and societies alike for the forthcoming changes. By aligning technological progress with the principles of equity and collective well-being, our proposal aims to equip society at large to successfully confront the multifaceted challenges and seize the opportunities presented by this era of technological disruption.
