Co-located with eScience 2024, September 16-20, 2024, Osaka, Japan

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the Workshop on Generative AI and FAIR Principles in Science Communication (AI4SC-2024), to be held at eScience'24 at the Senri Life Science Center in Osaka Senri, Japan. This workshop explores the intersection of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and the principles of Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability (FAIR) in scientific communication.
Workshop Topics

We invite submissions on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Generative AI in scientific research
- FAIR principles in AI development
- Interdisciplinary approaches to AI in science communication
- Case studies and applications
- Ethical and equity challenges in LLM for scientific communication
- Leveraging LLM to democratize access to science
- Integrating knowledge graphs and ontologies with LLM
- Formal models of LLM for information assurance in science communications
- LLM for information retrieval and annotation
- LLM application for database and query processing for scientific result representation

Submission Guidelines
Submissions should present original research, innovative ideas, or case studies relevant to the workshop topics. Papers must follow the eScience'24 formatting guidelines and be submitted electronically via the conference submission system. Accepted papers will be published by IEEE and indexed by all major indexes.
Contribution Types
The conference is soliciting two types of contributions:
• - Full Papers (10 pages including references): Presenting previously unpublished research achievements or eScience experiences and solutions.
• - Posters (2 pages): Showcasing standalone research, innovations, or early-stage results that are anticipated to develop into a full paper.
Submitted papers should use the IEEE 8.5×11 manuscript guidelines: double-column text using single-spaced 10-point font on 8.5×11-inch pages. Templates are available from IEEE Templates. All submissions will be single-blind peer-reviewed. Selected full papers will receive a slot for an oral presentation. Accepted posters will be presented during a poster reception. Accepted full papers and poster papers will be published in the conference proceedings. At least one author of each accepted paper or poster must register as an author at the full registration rate. Each author registration can be applied to only one accepted submission.
