Third Workshop on Engineering Processes and Practices for Quantum Software
(PPQS’24)https://sites.google.com/view/ppqs24/home

Co-located with PROFES 2024: https://conf.researchr.org/home/profes-2024

) Theme of PPQS'24 Workshop:
Quantum Software Engineering (QSE) is a recent genre of Software Engineering (SE) discipline - relying on engineering processes and practices - to design, develop, validate and evolve quantum software systems effectively and efficiently. While traditional SE processes and practices retain their relevance in the QSE context, they require adaptation to address the unique characteristics of quantum software. The third edition of the Workshop on Engineering Processes and Practices for Quantum Software (PPQS'24) represents a forum to establish a vibrant community, fostering both academic research and industrial solutions centered on QSE principles and practices. This community is dedicated to advancing process-centric design, development, validation, deployment, and maintenance of quantum software systems and applications. The workshop invites high-quality, practical research contributions in various forms, such as empirical studies, industrial experience reports, and solution proposals, with a focus on process-centric QSE.

) Goals of the Workshop:
The primary goals of the workshop are to bring together multi-disciplinary researchers and practitioners from software engineering, business information systems, and quantum computing for cross-fertilisation of theory and practices for developing QSE.

- Academic research focused on investigating the state-of-the-art, emerging, and futuristic challenges, novel solutions, experiences, opinions, and other relevant aspects of QSE for quantum computing.

- Industrial practitioners who may be interested in practitioners’ perspectives, notations, tools, frameworks and patterns for quantum software engineering and development.

- Policymakers and the public as decision-makers and administrative authorities can assess the recent advances such as quantum information processing, quantum software and system architectures and quantum software processes. QSW are being adopted in public infrastructures and urban services (e.g., cyber security, bio-inspired computing, and smart systems) that can benefit from the features and operational capabilities offered by quantum computing in general and quantum software in particular.
