FoodOPS 2024- International Food Operations and Processing Simulation Workshop!
International Food Operations and Processing Simulation Workshop (FoodOPS 2024)

Food engineering has expanded enormously in terms of issues addressed, theories and tools deployed to improve food processing and food traceability. Indeed, there is a growing effort toward the application of artificial intelligence techniques as well as mathematical modeling and software development for food processing and traceability purposes. This widening domain along with the dynamism in the Modeling and Simulation technologies and approaches throw up many challenges for researchers and practitioners seeking to come to terms with the scope and diversity of the field. the International Food Operations & Processing Simulation Workshop has the potential to make an important contribution to the literature both in appraising the current state of research and in providing advanced approaches for the future development of the field. FoodOPS Conference is part of the I3M Multiconference.

Awards
"Gianni Cantice Research Award for Gifted Simulation Students" and the “Norbert Giambiasi Award for Conceptual Modeling Excellence” will be announced during the I3M 2024 Gala Dinner and attributed to the best simulation student applicants. The Gianni Cantice Award is entitled to Col.Cantice as recognition for his long activity in Simulation; the Gianni Cantice Award Winner will receive the Award Certificate and a financial contribution (a free registration for the next I3M conference).
The Norbert Giambiasi Award is entitled to Prof. Norbert Giambiasi as recognition for very highly qualified contribution in Conceptual Modeling and DEVS within the International Simulation Community. The Norbert Giambiasi Award Certificate Board selects the paper among best Conceptual Modeling contributions to the I3M Conference. If you have a student as co-author in your FoodOPS paper the student could be considered for the award.

Conference Aim
Food engineering has expanded enormously in terms of issues addressed, theories and tools deployed to improve food processing and food traceability. Indeed, there is a growing effort toward the application of artificial intelligence techniques as well as mathematical modeling and software development for food processing and traceability purposes. This event is the ideal framework for setting up European Community and International Projects and it could be used as a framework for hosting project review meetings and project exploitation. Such papers would address key aspects such as modeling and simulation of food processes, comparison and optimization of emerging food technologies, risk assessment, food safety and shelf-life prediction; analysis and modeling of food packaging; food processing sustainability, traceability, production planning and scheduling; supply chain and cold chain design and management; inventory management and storage area design; automation of production processes and logistics etc directing the attention to the relationships among concepts and theories within and across the different subfields.
