The massive amounts of digital content now online can be used to develop sophisticated rich knowledge sources. Two rapidly emerging technologies, Large Language Models and Knowledge Graphs, present opportunities, and challenges for new digital library services. This workshop will examine the intersection and complementary use of rich semantics, knowledge graph and generative AI technologies and applications, through paper presentations and a panel discussion.
Topics: • How generative AI can complement knowledge graphs. • How knowledge graphs and ontologies can contribute to generative AI. • Comparison of knowledge graphs and generative AI for particular domains and applications. • Developing, updating, and validating large-scale rich semantic resources. • Representations and implementations for science, social science, history, and humanities. • Semantic models representing processes, causation, and discourse, and contributions to and from generative AI • User interaction with large knowledge bases. • Other topics addressing the issue of semantics in generative AI. This workshop will consider theory, analysis, comparison and evaluation papers, as well as prototype applications. Organizers: • R.B. Allen o http://boballen.info • C.S.G.
