Abstract: With the widespread availability and adoption of consumer technologies such as smartphones, wearable devices, virtual and augmented reality headsets, etc., there is a strong need to understand how they can be effectively leveraged to enhance or enable novel learning experiences across various educational and training contexts. In addition, considering the rise of AI and related tools, such as large language models, this is a seminal period in history to explore new use cases for consumer technologies within the considered domain. This Special Session will collect contributions about advancements and applications of consumer technologies in education and training scenarios. By attending this Special Session, participants will gain insights into the latest research, innovations, and applications regarding the use of consumer technologies in education and training.
