Call For Papers

The Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA) at the College of Business, Law, and Governance, James Cook University, Australia is proud to invite you to participate in the 3rd International Conference on Business, Economics, Management and Sustainability (BEMAS). This conference is a platform for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to come together and share their insights and experiences on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the fields of business, economics, management, sustainability, AI, and resilience.

The conference will focus on the theme of "Exploring Innovations for a Sustainable, Resilient, and AI-driven Future". As we face global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, it is more important than ever to find innovative solutions that promote sustainability and resilience. The conference will explore how the fields of business, economics, management, sustainability, AI, and resilience can work together to create a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and presentations by leading experts and researchers from around the world. These experts will share their insights and experiences on the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in their respective fields. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from these experts, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and network with their peers.

Topics to be covered at the conference will include, but are not limited to:

Other themes that fit under the CITBA’s research flagships


Special session: Navigating Water Challenges: Perspectives from Government and Industry

The conference provides a platform for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to present their latest research findings, exchange ideas, and network with their peers.

The 3rd International BEMAS conference will be held in a hybrid format, offering both in-person and online options for attendees. The safety and wellbeing of our attendees is our top priority, and we will be adhering to all relevant health guidelines to ensure a safe and comfortable conference experience for all.


Important Dates:

Abstract Submission Opening: May 8, 2023
Abstract Submission Deadline: July 20, 2023
Abstract Notification: Within two weeks from submission date
Full Paper Submission Deadline: August 10, 2023
Review Process: Within four weeks from submission date
Event Dates: September 1-3, 2023


Final Acceptance Notification

Please note that all notifications for on-time submissions should be expected on or before August 15th. Late submissions will still be considered for presentations, but please be advised that their full paper may not be reviewed and ready for publication in the proceeding due in December 2023. If this is the case, the papers will be included in the second volume, which will be released in early 2024.


The Location

We are excited to announce that our conference will be held in a hybrid mode, with both online and in-person participation options available. Our physical venue is James Cook University's Cairns City Campus, located in the beautiful city of Cairns, nestled in far North Queensland, Australia, in the heart of the tropics. Cairns is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, including the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, and Atherton Tablelands.

For those who plan to attend in person, we have provided information on potential accommodation options and travel information. From exploring the tropical rainforest to snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, there is no shortage of activities to enjoy in Cairns.
