Call For Papers

2nd IEEE Conference on Research Challenges in Digitalization and Societal Transformation

The intersection of digitalization and societal transformation constitute a tremendous opportunity for innovations and urgent issues resulting from post-pandemic/endemic conditions. Indeed, the economic prosperity of societies relies very much on the ability of organizations, communities, and governments to ease and fasten access and use of digital technologies, as well as transform society nationally and globally. Our objective is to bring together interdisciplinary researchers, practitioner scholars, and experts who are exploring new theories and empirical results in the emerging, interdisciplinary, and integrated research of digital transformation and societal innovations. We aim to highlight the aspects of their contributions and the challenges, opportunities, and potential it affords.

TOPICS

We solicit submissions of original case studies and papers describing significant empirical, modeling, and theoretical studies of organizations and society’s digitalization and transformation. Topics covered include but not restricted to the following areas and interdisciplinary fields:

Theory and Fundamentals: Values, implications and/or impact of digital transformation, digital transformation and intellectual property, digital policies, application and development of digital transformation and society, digital identity, trust, security, privacy, governance, regulations, and policies.

Society and Organization Transformation: Digital citizenship & governments, digital maturity, digital transformation in organizations, service and process digitalization, digital transformation and cultural change, digital literacy and societal engagement, smart community and urban development and sustainability, digital divide and societal challenges, impact of digitization (social, trust, governance of business/IT alignments), technical and societal cross-domain digitization, Short-, mid-, and long-term impact prediction, implications of digitization, perception and adoption of digitization.
Autonomous and Intelligent Systems and Related Technologies: Digital frameworks and platforms, approaches and techniques for digitization (e.g. artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, big data, DevOps, social patterns, Internet of Things, RPA, immersive technologies & metaverse, HCI, UI/UX Design), system architectures, modeling and simulation, deployment and Integration, platforms interoperability.

Shaping the Future Concepts: Interdisciplinary research and development (e.g. design, consumer behavior, end-of-use cycles), emerging technologies (e.g. contributors to efficient processes or new value for industry, society, and/or sustainability), cyber resilience (e.g. future-minded solutions that consider effective practices across digital ecosystems, cyber fusion centers), digital economy, future networks and technology (e.g. enterprise architecture, software agents, mobile computing), business and organization transformation, alignment and governance.
