Call For Papers

The Tenth International Symposium on Integrated Uncertainty in Knowledge Modelling and Decision Making (IUKM 2023) will be held in Kanazawa, Japan during 02-04 November, 2023, and be jointly organized by Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, and Osaka University, Japan.

The International Symposium on Integrated Uncertainty in Knowledge Modelling and Decision Making (IUKM) aims to provide a forum for exchanges of research results, ideas for and experience of application among researchers and practitioners involved with all aspects of uncertainty management and application. The origin of this conference series started in 2010 at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Ishikawa, Japan under the title of the International Symposium on Integrated Uncertainty Management and Applications (IUM 2010). The name of the conference series was then changed to its current title at the second edition (IUKM 2011) held in October 2011 at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China; and later editions were held in Beijing, China (IUKM 2013), Nha Trang, Vietnam (IUKM 2015), Da Nang, Vietnam (IUKM 2016), Hanoi, Vietnam (IUKM 2018), Nara, Japan (IUKM 2019), Phuket, Thailand (IUKM 2020), and online (IUKM 2022), respectively.

IUKM2023 is the tenth edition of The International Symposium on Integrated Uncertainty in Knowledge Modelling and Decision Making (IUKM), of which its main objectives are outlined as follows:
to bring together researchers working on uncertainty formalisms in information and knowledge systems;
to attract researchers working in social sciences (economics, business, management and environmental sciences) and engineering who are interested in applying uncertainty-related tools and techniques;
to bring together researchers and practitioners in order to foster the collaboration on research and application involving uncertainty management; and
to present and discuss open research problems and novel applications.
Proposal for special sessions and workshops is encouraged and welcome.

Relevant topics for the IUKM 2023 Symposium include (but are not limited to) the following:

Paper Submission and Publication

The authors are invited to submit their full papers by May 15, 2023. The submissions will be peer-reviewed for originality and scientific quality. As done in previous editions, the proceedings of IUKM 2023 will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series, and be available at the Symposium. Authors are requested to prepare their papers in the Springer format. Submissions should not exceed 12 pages and must be submitted as PDF electronically through the conference's CMT submission site. Please visit here for details.

IUKM 2023 Special Issues will be announced on this page later. Special Issues of previous IUKM conferences (IUM 2010, IUKM 2015, IUKM 2016, IUKM 2018) have been be published in Annals of Operations Research and International Journal of Approximate Reasoning.
