The Metaverse is the emerging technology that creates the experience of an immersive, three-dimensional environment where users interact with their surroundings and shared space. It’s a convergence of several technologies such as blockchain, augmented reality,
virtual reality, 3D reconstruction, and artificial intelligence. The Metaverse market reached $46 billion in 2020, the market size is predicted to reach as much as $800 billion by 2024. Locally, Saudi Arabia plans to spend billions of dollars on blockchain and Metaverse technologies. Saudi Arabia’s new Metaverse will help design a $500bn city in Real Life (IRL) where NEOM will be shaped by a “digital twin” virtual world. Many believe the Metaverse to be the next critical paradigm for how we utilize digital technology and networks to connect, cooperate, and enjoy virtual experiences. Teaching in a Metaverse platform means textbooks are replaced by integrated video gaming-style challenges that require students to apply learned skills to compete. There is an increasing need for new communication and connections modes, such as virtual 3D and the Internet of Everything (IoE), and remote communication and collaboration. The 20th International Learning and Technology Conference aims to be a meeting point for specialists to explore recent breakthroughs and discoveries to make the Metaverse experience more immersive. This conference will bring together decision-makers, academics, scientists, practitioners, professionals, and top keynote speakers to stimulate discussion on the latest developments in Metaverse and related technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), Internet of Everything (IoE), Robotics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Non-Fungible Token (NFT), etc. *IMP0RTANT DATES* Full Paper Submission: 1st December, 2022 Author Notification: 1st January, 2023 Camera-Ready Submission: 15th January, 2023 End of Early Registration: 15th January, 2023 Conference: 26th January, 2023 Chair: Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, President, EffatUniversity, Jeddah, KSA General Chair: Dr. Akila Sarirete, Dean, ECoE, Effat University, KSA Scientific Committee Chair: Prof. Mohamed El Amin Moussa, Effat University, KSA Program Chair: Dr. Zain Balfagih, Effat University, KSA Program Co-Chairs: Dr. Tayeb Brahimi, Dr. Anna Visvizi, Effat University, KSA Organization Committee: Prof. Passent ElKafrawy, Effat University, KSA The 20th International Learning and Technology Conference (L&T 2023) themes may include, but are not limited to: 1- Computing and Communications Companions in Metaverse Shaping the Internet of Everything (IoE) with Metaverse Cloud, Edge, Fog Computing, and Green Computing Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Cities 2- Metaverse Applications and Services Smart Machines, Vehicles, and Robots Blockchain Technology and Digital Assets m-Healthcare Apps Virtual, Mixed, Augmented, and Extended Reality (VR, MR, AR, XR) 3D AI Modeling and Simulation 5G, 6G, F5G, and F6G Networks NLP supported Tools, Systems, Mobile Apps, and Chatbots Smart Spaces (Smart Home, Smart Building, Smart Campus) Metaverse Entertainment 3- Metaverse Security Fraud-Detection in Metaverse Data Integrity and Ransomware Attacks Cyberbullying and Harassment Social Engineering Attacks Cybersecurity, and Privacy Mechanisms for Metaverse Ethical and Security Challenges in Edu-Metaverse 4- Innovative in Learning Methodologies Pedagogic Framework of Edu-Metaverse Sustainable Learning Through Metaverse Team-based Learning in the Metaverse Assessment and Evaluation in Edu-Metaverse Edu-Metaverse for Lifelong Learning Edu-Metaverse Implementation and Socio-Technical Aspect Accepted Papers will be published in iEEE Xplore Digital Library SUBMISSI0N F0RMAT AND GUIDELINES Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically using the online conference system EasyChair.
