Recommendation services have penetrated many facets of our daily life, ranging from traditional online retailers and movie recommenders to emerging travel-routes recommenders and online dating services. With the prevalence of recommendation services in e-Commerce, many research challenges and opportunities have also emerged. This special track calls for original research papers to address the following issues (but not limited to):

Research Challenges in Recommender Systems
- Rating-data sparsity problem
- User-interest drifting problem
- Collaborative filtering methods
- Hybrid recommendation methods
- Item ranking and ordinal regression methods
- Algorithm efficiency for recommendation

Research Opportunities in Recommender Systems
- Cross-domain recommender systems
- Preference knowledge representation and transfer
- Side-information and auxiliary data sources exploiting
- Context-aware recommender systems
- New recommendation applications
- Benchmark data for recommender system research
