Call For Papers
===================

Nanotechnologies provide the scientific and engineering communities with unprecedented tools to not only interface with existing systems at their most fundamental level, i.e., the sub-atomic and molecular scales, but to create new paradigms that leverage physical phenomena not present at the micro- and macro-scales. Example applications range from ultra-high-performance computing systems based on massive networks on chip and quantum computing and communication architectures, to transformative healthcare systems and human-enhancement technologies that leverage synthetic biology. Enabling such applications requires interdisciplinary teams spanning the fields of material science, physics, biology, chemistry, electrical and computer engineering, and computer science.

The 9th ACM International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication (ACM NanoCom 2022) builds on the eight previous editions' effort to bring together experts who are not afraid of breaking barriers and bridging gaps across disciplines, both in academia and industry. ACM NanoCom 2022 will highlight novel research results and breakthrough ideas, and identify directions for short and medium term exploitation. Novel theoretical and experimental research contributions are welcome. The conference will feature contributed and invited papers, posters and demo presentations, and keynote addresses at the forefront of this interdisciplinary field.

We invite submissions in areas including (but not limited to) the following:

Electronic, photonic, electromagnetic (terahertz, optical) and acoustic nanoscale computing and communication, including:
Innovative device concepts for signal generation, modulation, radiation, detection, filtering and amplification
Propagation and photothermal modeling of nanoscale electronic, photonic, electromagnetic and acoustic signals
Signal processing, communication and networking protocols

Molecular computing and communication in the biological, chemical, or mechanical environments, including
Molecular computing and communication component design, integration or reprogramming through synthetic biology
Propagation modeling of molecular information inside and outside of the biological environments
Signal processing, communication and networking protocols

Quantum nanoscale computing and communications:
Design and modeling of quantum computing and communication architectures
Communication theoretic approaches for quantum communications
Quantum communication protocol design

Multi-modal interfaces between nanoscale electronic, photonic, electromagnetic, acoustic and molecular systems, including mechanisms, devices and protocols for the same

Simulation tools and experimental platforms for nanoscale computing and communication, including early data-sets reporting

Integration of nano- and macro-scale communication systems

Applications, such as the Internet of Nano-Things and Bio-Nano-Things, nanosensor networks, systems-on-chip, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, medical and non-medical applications, nanonetworks in exotic materials such as functional meta-surfaces and meta-materials

Disease-oriented solutions to diagnose and/or treat specific pathologies such as neurodegenerative disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, cognitive impairments, motor disorders, cardiovascular pathologies, gastrointestinal diseases such as Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreas or colon cancer, to name a few.

As in the previous years of the conference, top selected articles presented at the conference will be invited for extended fast track publishing in the Elsevier Nano Communication Networks Journal (IF: 2.95).

===================
Call for Posters and Demos
===================
ACM NanoCom 2022 solicits submissions for a poster and demo session dedicated to sharing late-breaking results or work-in-progress on any topic related to nanoscale computing, communication and networks. Posters and demos provide a chance for in-depth research discussions with other conference attendees and are therefore especially well-suited for obtaining feedback on ongoing research or controversial ideas. A demo proposal is expected to insist on how the demonstration supports innovative research results or original applications and/or the value for the community of the test platform (please see the topics of interest above). Demonstrations will be selected based on the expected interest from the NanoCom audience. Poster and demo papers will be presented in an appropriate session.

Submission Guidelines
===================
Papers submitted to ACM NanoCom 2022 must be original, not previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere, and they must not be submitted to any other event or publication during the entire review process.

Regular papers are limited to 6 pages including figures and references. They should describe novel advances in topics within the scope of the conference. Authors may submit a 7-page manuscript for review, but an extra page charge of $100 is required for accepted papers.

Poster and demo submissions require an abstract with a maximum length of 2 pages including all figures and references.

All manuscripts must adhere to the guidelines at http://nanocom.acm.org/nanocom2022/cfp.php#submission.

All submitted regular papers, poster and demo abstracts will undergo a peer review process, as coordinated by the Technical Program Committee.
