Call for papers
Following the previous international ECEE conferences,Department of Economics and Finance at Tallinn University of Technology will host the 14 th Conference "Evolving Challenges in European Economies" from 12–14 June 2022 onsite in Tallinn, Estonia. The event is organised in collaboration with the Bank of Estonia, the Horizon 2020 project Individual Behaviour and Economic Performance, the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 project Micro-level Responses to Socio-economic Challenges in Face of Global Uncertainties and Association for the Study of East European Economies and Cultures (USA). You are invited to submit papers for presentation and discussion. We encourage submissions on linkages between individual behaviour and economic performance; microlevel responses to socio-economic challenges in face of global uncertainties; real sector implications and labour market responses to the changing economic environment; connections between changes in the economy and the financial sector, and related opportunities; macroeconomic effects and economic policy considerations under global change. Submissions on other topics are very welcome. Keynote Speaker We have the honour to host as a keynote speaker Professor Ariel Rubinstein, internationally highly renowned professor of economics from Tel Aviv University and New York University. His main fields of research are decision theory, models of bounded rationality and game theory. Program Outline The conference venue is the Energy Discovery Centre a science centre based in a former power plant in Tallinn city centre. The event is planned to begin with Welcome Reception in the evening of Sunday, 12 June at the Maarjamäe Palace. The Welcome Reception is planned to bepreceded by a combined bus and walking tour in Tallinn for those who are interested. Monday, 13 June will start with a plenary session in the morning, followed by paper presentation sessions until the evening and conference dinner at restaurant Pegasus in Tallinn Old Town. Tuesday, 14 June will be devoted to paper presentation sessions. Submissions Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts or full papers by 10 April 2022 by e-mail to ecee@taltech.ee. The submitting authors will be notified of the decision by 15 April 2022, but we seek to respond earlier to those who submit earlier. Registration We kindly ask participants to register for the event by 10 May 2022 through our website. The conference participation fee is EUR 320 per participant. Discounted participation fee of EUR 190 is available for PhD students as well as for any persons accompanying the author(s). The participation fee is payable by 10 May 2022. After that date participation at the conference is possible at a walk-in participation fee of EUR 370 (EUR 240 for students), payable in cash on site during conference registration or by bank transfer beforehand. The participation fee will be waived for up to three participants from Ukraine.
