(University of Belgrade, Serbia) *** Objective of the Book This book is aimed to be a collection of state-of-the-art research findings in digital transformations across the financial industry from the Central and east European markets. Digitalization is fundamentally changing financial services in the last few decades and tends to reshape the landscape of financial industry in an unprecedented manner. This book seeks to extend the concurrent body of knowledge on digital transformation in the financial industry by encompassing significant conceptual contributions, innovations in methods and techniques and by delineating the main applications of digital transformation in the CEE region. Although the books elaborating digital transformation in finance can be found at the market, these books dominantly focus on developed market. The aim of this book is to progress one-step forward – to focus on practice in developing and transitional/post-transitional countries *** Target Audience This publication should be used as a relevant resource for academics, postgraduates, practitioners, financial experts and policy makers. It is aimed primarily at the Serbian academic market (libraries of universities and colleges), but also at participants in the Serbian financial and economic system - economic analysts, Information technology analysts and information technology experts, small investors, institutional investors, as well as regulators of the financial system and national finance policy makers. We believe that the edition will be particularly interesting for the same participants in the surrounding countries (especially in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans), but also for other developed European countries. *** Monograph content PART ONE: Old industries, new value chains may provide an insight into the social-science view on digital transformation in the financial industry throughout following chapters: - Financial services - Banking - Capital markets - Insurance - Healthcare - Digital currencies - Wealth in management - Real estate - Accounting, Auditing and Compliances - Personal finance PART TWO: Technology as a driver of disruption in the financial industry aims to provide the most recent evidence on how financial technologies are transforming the financial services of emerging markets, and how adoption of modern information technologies fosters setting up new financial services. This chapter calls professionals, academics and researchers to send their work in the field of the following topics: - Disruption by FinTech on traditional financial services - Global and regional perspectives on Fintech adoption - RegTech - Digitizing Financial Regulation - Regulatory issues and challenges in FinTech - Digital payment systems - Fintech mobile applications and personal finance - IoT In FinTech and Banking - Open banking - Blockchain and FinTech - Cryptocurrencies - Data sharing in financial service value chains - Distributed ledger applications and decentralized finance (Defi) - Novel applications of AI - Crowdsourcing and investment strategy - Cyber risk in finance - FinTech startups *** Publishing The entire manuscript selection process was conducted by the editors in accordance with the highest standards and best practice guidelines on publication ethics, with particular attention paid to issues of plagiarism, peer review, objectivity, funding, privacy, and conflicts of interest. In the first phase (which was completed), a selection of papers was made based on abstracts and bibliography. It is planned to complete the collection of full papers (approximately 20 chapters in total) at the July 15, 2022, in accordance with the Guidelines for writing scientific papers that will be handover to you after notification of Abstract acceptance. *** Important Dates March 15, 2022: Abstract Submission Deadline and short bio of authors(s) April 20, 2022: Notification of Acceptance July 15, 2022: Full Chapter Submission September 1, 2022: Review Results Returned September 20, 2022: Final Chapter Submission October 01, 2022: Final Deadline *** Submission Procedure Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 15, 2022, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Furthermore, authors should send with the chapter proposal a short biography - up to 100 words. Each paper may have no more than 3 authors. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by March 20, 2022 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by July 15, 2022.
