Call For Papers

Call for Papers, The Journal of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research
2023 Journal Theme: The Nexus: Defining the Moment

Abstract Submissions Due: February 11, 2022 – 11:59 p.m. ET

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.’s Journal for the Center for Policy Analysis and Research (JCPAR) is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes original research and analyses on public policy issues related to Black politics in the United States and abroad.

For the next JCPAR to be published in 2023, Managing Editor, Desireé Orr is seeking submissions (approximately 4,000-5,000 words in length) that accurately define this moment in the Black liberation movement, survey the victories and deficiencies of the last five years, and forge a path forward.

The Reconstruction Era, Nadir Period, Harlem Renaissance, and Civil Rights Movement were milestones throughout Black history where the freedom movement faced stark opposition- yet advanced forward. The past five years have been transformative for the Black community. This period, colored by a polarized Trump presidency, a divided congress, and the most African American elected officials since the reconstruction era, has brought us to a nexus. This special issue of the Journal of the Center for Policy and Research will capture the past five years of Black social, political, and economic ‘fluctuations’ while providing actionable solutions for policymakers. How do we capitalize and seize this moment? We welcome interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary perspectives from the social sciences, natural sciences, STEM and humanities. This issue is scheduled for publication in early 2023.
