Call For Papers

The present 11th EPQU Conference is being organized by the ISR-University of Coimbra and is the continuation and development of priori conferences on the same or similar subject-matter, initiated by Electrical Power Engineering Institute of the Technical University in Lodz, Poland. The 2011 EPQU Conference will be held in Lisbon in the new Park Expo Conference Center, a river front location with a variety of modern hotels, near several city landmarks and within easy reach of the Lisbon Airport and by metro to the outstanding historic city center (S. Jorge Casle, Jeronimos Cathedral. Belem Tower, Museums, etc).

The Conference aim is to provide a forum for electrical engineers and scientists to present their work and share experience in the area of Power Quality and utilisation. EPQU’11 includes different aspects of Power Quality problems, solutions and applications as well as different issues of electrical energy utilisation, including new topics such as Distributed Generation Building Automation, Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles.

All publications will be available in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Papers are welcomed in one of the following topics (the list is not exhaustive):

1. Integration of green energy sources and energy storage in transmission/distribution systems, including the cost/benefit assessment of such solutions;
2. Power quality issues related to Smart Grids and Electric Vehicles;
3. Distribution power quality impact by energy efficiency devices and equipment;
4. Building automation;
5. Power electronics for energy efficient solutions, including Data Centers;
6. Methods of power quality improvement: filters, etc.
7. Influences of disturbing loads on supply networks and other electrical devices;
8. Sensibility of loads and other electrical equipment to power quality characteristics;
9. Power quality measurements: techniques, instruments;
10. Methods of power quality analysis - modeling and simulation;
11. Economic aspects of power quality and cost of supply;
12. Reliability and continuity of supply;
