Call For Papers

First Call for Papers to the

2nd International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET’22)

http://www.alleget.es/

IMPORTANT DATES
• Paper submission deadline: 25th February 2022.
• Notification of acceptance: 4th April 2022.
• Camera Ready Deadline: 18th Abril 2022.
• Workshop Date: 20 – 23 June 2022.
• Venue: IUT of Bayonne (Campus Anglet), Biarritz, France.

MOTIVATION
Every day, more information moves through social networks. Users publish content in the form of text, images, video, audio or a combination of them to express their opinions, relate facts that are happening at that moment or show situations of interest. Also, this content is published using mobile devices that are commonly equipped with different outdoor and indoor positioning technologies (e.g., GPS, RFID or Bluetooth) that allows to attach certain geo-tags to the users’ posts as meta-data. This opens a new line of research related to the analysis and interpretation of the multi-modal information flowing through online social networks. However, the fusion, integration and analysis of this heterogeneous data poses serious challenges so as to come up to truly effective services leveraging social-media content in fields like predictive analytics or event detection
This workshop focuses on intelligent solutions for social-media processing that considers such an inherent heterogeneity. This way, mechanisms able to extract knowledge from multimedia data posted by users in online social media platforms or the fusion of different types of data coming from these feeds would be of special interest.

TOPICS
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following ones:

• Microtexts analysis
• Techniques for image analysis.
• Techniques for audio analysis.
• Social-media crowdsensing.
• Intelligent forecasting applications
• Knowledge-based method
• Sentiment analysis
• Environmental problems
• Information Fusion strategies
• Smart mobility
• Smart system for soft data fusion
• Fusion techniques for user-generated data
• Fusion techniques of semantic information
• Multisensor data-fusion technique

PUBLICATION
All accepted papers will be published in an Open Access volume in the Book Series on Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments Series (IOS Press). The Workshops Proceedings published by this Book Series are indexed in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index - Science (CPCI-S) by Thomson Reuters. Previous editions were indexed by Scopus. We are also negotiating a special issue in a relevant journal in this area for extended selected papers (more information in the next CFP).

SUBMISSIONS
Authors wishing to participate in this event should format their papers according to the IOS Press style, with a length of at least 6 but no more than 10 pages. Latex and Word templates can be found in http://www.iospress.nl/service/authors/latex-and-word-tools-for-book-authors/
The submission system for this workshop is based on EasyChair. Papers must be submitted using this link. See more details on the submission system in http://www.alleget.es/#Submisions

All papers will be submitted to a peer-review process by referees with expertise in the area. This process will result in constructive feedback to the authors and the selection of the best contributions to be presented in the workshop and published in the proceedings.

WORKSHOP FORMAT
The core of the event will be the presentation of recent advances in research and applications followed by a debate aiming to encourage a critical reflection on the subject. We also encourage authors to include demos about tools and applications. Following the presentations of selected papers, a discussion panel will focus on critical issues that should be addressed at both academic and professional level. Interaction will be encouraged throughout the event. Online presentations may be accepted (previously contacted and accepted by the organizers).
