Call for Papers – Scientific Track (IEEE technically co-sponsored)
Data Science is at the forefront of new scientific discoveries. It plays a significant role in all aspects of our daily lives. The 9th Swiss Conference on Data Science brings together researchers, developers and innovators. SDS2022 takes place on June 22-23, 2022. Topics of interest We invite submissions of original research papers related to all areas of Data Science, especially best practice and use-case oriented research work with technical depth and practical applicability. We especially want to solicit work in four key areas in the coming year, namely: AI for Cybersecurity and Data Protection Data collection and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms are becoming the cornerstone of the cybersecurity industry. And at the same time we have to think about how we can ensure the security requirements of critical applications and the safety and confidentiality of data communication and processing. AI for Humanity We already observe that AI-based innovations are powering some of the most cutting-edge solutions we use in our daily lives and in almost every field of industry. It is therefore only natural to use AI also to solve the challenges of humanity such as how to tackle climate change, health challenges (e.g., pandemics), the future of food, energy and transportation and other social good use cases. Developing, deploying and operating machine learning-based systems (MLOps) Data Science is more than creating prototypes. MLOps focuses on managing and automating machine learning pipelines and therefore creating real and sustainable business applications. We will address the whole development-operations-life-cycle including pipeline main-tenance, data collection & access, infrastructure, operational aspects, delivery to production and many more. Implementing socially-acceptable data-based applications A wide range of Data Science solutions are in place. However, there are big differences between the technical implementation and the soci-al perception of these solutions. Therefore, we want to understand deeper how to build socially accepted data-based applications. Submission Full Paper – present high-quality research contributions, including experiments, analysis, or system papers, as well as descriptions of application results. Each submission can have up to 6 pages incl. references. Short Paper – present late-breaking results, work in progress, follow-up extensions, application case studies, or evaluations of existing methods. Each submission can have up to 2 pages incl. references. All submissions must be original works that have not been published previously in any conference proceedings, magazine, journal, or edited book. The review process will be double blind, therefore we ask authors to take specific care to anonymize their submission reasonably. Concurrent submissions are strictly forbidden. Submission of papers implies intention to register and present the related content at the conference. The international Program Committee will carefully review the submissions. Excellent content and presentation as demonstrated in the submission are mandatory for acceptance. Accepted submissions will be presented in English (as a talk or a poster) by the authors at the conference. As last year, proceedings of all papers presented at the conference will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore digital library. All submissions must be formatted by following the IEEE 8.5” x 11” two-column format. Important Dates February 18, 2022: Submission deadline April 05, 2022: Acceptance notification May 09, 2022: Camera ready papers deadline June 23, 2022: Conference takes place |
