Special session Context Aware Middleware in Pervasive Computing Environments Session organizers Hamed Vahdat-Nejad (Univ of Isfahan, IRAN) Kamran Zamanifar (Univ of Isfahan, IRAN) Nasser Nematbakhsh (Univ of Isfahan, IRAN) Call for Papers The “Context Aware Middleware in Pervasive Computing Environments” (CAMPCE) special session is included as part of the 7th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology. The aim of this special session is to gather researchers in the emerging area of context awareness to exchange knowledge and ideas. Context is a fundamental concept in the pervasive computing; which is generally defined as any information that can be used to characterize the situation of an entity. A context aware application always uses context to adapt its behavior and provide improved and pervasive services to the users. The main challenge to implement a context aware application is discovering and obtaining the required context. Context aware middlewares aim to facilitate the development of context aware applications. In general, the task of a context aware middleware is firstly discovering context sources; and then gathering, aggregating, modeling, conflict resolving, and reasoning context; and finally creating transparent mechanisms for context aware applications to obtain their context needs. The developers of pervasive computing environments usually invest in developing a middleware for supporting context aware applications. CAMPCE invites papers that address issues related to context aware middlewares. Topics of interest are include but not limited to: • Context aware middleware • Context management architecture/framework • Context discovery • Context aggregation • Context modeling • Context reasoning • Context distribution/dissemination • Context aware applications Submission CAMPCE seeks original manuscripts (6 pages maximum in IEEE two-column format) describing research in all aspects of context awareness that contribute to the special session theme. All papers will be peer reviewed, and acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. The format of the papers is as mentioned in the conference website. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be indexed in IEEEXplore. Papers must be submitted via Email to the session organizer: Hamed Vahdat-Nejad (hamed.vh@gmail.com or vahdatnejad@alum.sharif.edu) Important Dates Paper submission February 10, 2011 Student posters submission February 10, 2011 Notification of acceptance February 28, 2011 Final camera ready paper March 18, 2011 |
