SEDTEC 2011 : Science, Education & Technology (SEDTEC) Conference in Catanduanes Island Philippines
Call For Papers
The organizers of SEDTEC 2011 invite you to join us in welcoming the attendees from all over the Philippines to Catanduanes Island, Bicol Region during this national conference from 19-21 May 2011.
Science, Education and Technology provide enormous opportunities to humankind that must be explored, integrated and enhanced into the future. The impact of technological advances such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Philippine society as a result of global developments must be fully considered.
Aim of SEDTEC 2011
SEDTEC 2011 brings together teachers (elementary/high school/tertiary), scientists, leading computer engineers, industry researchers and scholar students to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects in Science Education, Mathematics/Engineering Education, Business Education, Knowledge-Based Education and Educational Technology. Discussions may cover even the fields of Pure and Applied Sciences, Philosophy, Classical History, Arts, Divinity and Religious Studies.
The Conference titled Explore, Integrate, Enhance, invites attendees to explore into the issues which teachers, technologists, businessman, public servants and researchers face the world over-improving efficiency and effectiveness in teaching and learning using “technology” in the classroom, in research, in enhancing service quality in schools, telecenters, libraries, museums, community service, public policy and governance, etc.
Moreover, SEDTEC attendees are expected to integrate theory, concepts, methods and practical experience as exemplars so that over-all enhancement is achieved. This conference aims to promote, the roles played by the different sectors in developing and enriching individuals, communities and societies through Science, Education and Technology. In the said aims, SEDTEC in Catanduanes Island spearheads in providing a unique experience in developing the countryside towards a “telematic” culture in schools, colleges, universities, local government units, business centers, industries and other service-oriented institutions found in remote areas.
We at SEDTEC believe that development should not be focused on the mainland or the urban centers, and we should strive to put into practice the so-called “spread policy” by giving every island of the Philippine archipelago, various opportunities for development. This SEDTEC experience will be focused on providing new ways of enhancing Science, Education and Technology in the country.
We invite you to join us in our journey of exploring new ways, integrating technology and enhancing the fields of Science, Education and Technology through this national conference in Catanduanes Island, the Pearl of the Eastern Seas.

Specifically, the attendees work in schools (DepEd), higher education (TESDA & CHED), government agencies (local and national), non-government organizations (NGOs), and in industry and business (developing educational and science policies), and educational technology programs for students, teachers and researchers.
SEDTEC will be aimed at the widest possible groups of participants stakeholders from academics to industry and include elements specifically targeted at the public and school children and the youth. The conference structure and format is designed to maximize interaction between participants mixing oral presentations, poster, workshops and exhibition. The conference will have an interdisciplinary focus and is organized into themes rather than by the subjects to maximize interdisciplinary linkages.
All abstract (maximum 300-350 words) (PLEASE USE ATTACHED FORMAT) or paper (maximum of 5,000 words) submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by a scientific paper committee based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, and relevance to congress theme. The abstract/full paper submissions for the plenary, symposia/workshops will be chosen based on the overall merits and how well they fit a coherent and balanced program for SEDTECH. The accepted full papers will be published in the Proceedings or the Journal of Pedagogy, Technology and Synergy and Journal of Biodiversity, Climate Change and Sustainable Development (BIOCLIMES). Prospective authors are kindly invited to submit full text papers including results, tables, figures and references. CONTRIBUTED PAPERS FOR PRESENTATION
Researchers are cordially invited to submit a paper and/or a proposal to organize a workshop and actively participate in SEDTEC 2011. Proposals are invited for workshops to be related with the conference scope and topics. The congress workshops provide a challenging forum and vibrant opportunity for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research positions, original research results and practical development experiences on specific new challenges and emerging issues. The symposium/workshop topics should be focused so that the attendees from the elementary, secondary and college level can benefit from interaction with each other and the cohesiveness of the topics on Science, Education and Technology.
In order to maximize the potential scope of SEDTEC 2011, we would like to engage the submission of themed sessions at the conference. Please contact us of your suggestion and short commentary on most likely content of the session. Presentation that include a mix of presentation style (oral, digital object, tutorial, workshops, etc.) and which attract attendees from different regions of the country will be given priority. The following are the recently submitted themed sessions being championed during the conference with the corresponding contacts:
